CC Review Games

Feb 22, 2016

With three-fourths of Cycle 1 under our belts, it was time for me to find some fun ways for us to review all the Memory Work we have learned this year! I didn’t have to look hard to find some very simple, fun games! I recently purchased the Memory Masters Flashcards and they were very convenient to have for Review Games.

Here are 4 games we played last week during our “Break Week”.

Candy Land

At ages six and four my girls still enjoy playing Candy Land. Adding in Memory Work put a new twist on a game they already love! The colors coordinate perfectly with the colors of the Memory Master Flashcards. If they landed on a “red” space, they got a Science question. If they landed on “orange”, they got a History sentence.

Mr. Potato Head

They LOVED this game and wanted to keep playing it! They took turns answering a question (subject and week chosen by me) and after answering correctly, they got to add a piece to Mr. Potato Head!

BANG!

BANG! is a Review Game I found on Pinterest. It was easy to make and it was a hit with the girls! I printed, laminated and cut apart the subject cards. Then I put all the cards in a paper bag and the game was ready to be played! I did have to make my own “BANG” cards because I couldn’t get the link for those cards to work. There are 8 cards for each subject. I decided to write the weeks on the back of the subject cards. The girls reached into the bag and pulled out a card. (Again, I coordinated the subject card colors to the Memory Master Flashcard colors.) If they pulled out a Geography card they would flip it over and chose what week of Geography they want. If they answer correctly, they keep the card. If they choose a “BANG” card from the bag, they have to put all their cards back into the bag!

LEGO Review Game

LEGO Review Game was another game I found on Pinterest. Just print the game board, grab some LEGO pieces and you are ready to play!

I know we will be using all of these games to review Cycle 1’s Memory Work throughout the summer before we begin Cycle 2 in the Fall!
