{Letter J, Candy Canes, Numbers}

During the Christmas season we read J is for Jesus from Ready-Made Preschool Level 1. This was an adorable little board book for preschoolers that told the origin of the candy cane. The candy cane is in the shape of the Letter J for Jesus. If you turn the J upside down, it becomes a shepherd’s staff and the shepherds were the first to hear that Jesus had been born. The red strip on the candy cane is for the blood that was shed on the cross when Jesus died to pay for our sins, washing us white as snow (white strip). This is such a good little book to introduce salvation to preschoolers through the story of the candy cane.

Sweet Pea’s letter of the week was Letter J. She glued jewels on her letter J. (not pictured) She decided to color with a red marker her Do-A-Dot Letter J.

To keep in the theme of candy canes, Sweet Pea glued four candy canes onto paper, glued the numbers in numerical order and then drew that many strips on each candy cane.
