Apple Unit with Sweet Pea
Jan 04, 2016
During November & December I did thematic units with Sweet Pea! My favorite themed unit is Apples!
For a look back at Apples with Little Bug and for activity links click here and here. I know these activities are the same, but I wanted several pictures of Sweet Pea doing these units for the memories!
Apple Addition
This a song that we sing about the apples falling off the tree for some basic math practice.
We wrote some of the simple math equations from the song on the white board.
Sweet Pea got to make an apple tree on a piece of cardboard. She had some helping painting!
After it was dry, I wrote the lowercase letters on the tree and the uppercase letters on an apple shaped sticky note. Sweet Pea matched the letters!
She was so proud of her apple tree!
You can’t do an Apple Unit and not read Ten Apples Up on Top! We read other apple books too, but this one is definietly a favorite.
She did an Apple Counting activity. She had to count the apples and then put the clothes pin on the correct number.
It really worked those fine motor skills getting that clothespin on!
We learned the different parts of an apple but cutting an apple in half and exploring it.
We also had a diagram of an apple to label.
We had fun exploring and learning about Apples!
