Our most recent Ready-Made Preschool Level 1 book was How I Became a Pirate. I had never heard of this book before but I am so glad we own a copy now! Such imagination and adventure in this book. A boy is at the beach with his family and encounters a ship of pirates. He leaves with them because he just has to be back in time for his soccer game the next day. The pirates need to find a spot to bury their treasure and the little boy ends up leading them to the perfect spot…his backyard!

The Letter of the Week was Letter X which tied in well to the pirate theme. Sweet Pea made an x-ray Letter X and did her Do A Dot Letter X.

We put two pieces of tape on cardstock paper and then Sweet Pea painted all the white spaces. When we peeled away the tape, there was an X!

Sweet Pea went on a treasure hunt! There were hidden clues around the house that lead her to the treasure! X marked the spot and she found her Ziggy puppet in the dishwasher!

Ziggy is a part of her curriculum for next year and she already loves him!
