The Very Busy Spider {Letter W, Spider Web, Counting}

{Letter of the Week}

This week in Ready-Made Preschool Level 1 our book was The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. My girls love all the Eric Carle books and this was one we had not yet read! The Letter of the Week was Letter W. Sweet Pea used watercolors to paint her Letter W. She did her Do-A-Dot Letter W with our Do-A-Dot markers.

{Counting & Weather}

Sweet Pea did a Spider Counting activity. Using her fingerprint, she made the correct number of spiders in each box! One day we spent learning about the weather. We read Weather Words by Gail Gibbons. Then Sweet Pea completed the Wacky Weather worksheet. She drew a sun, glued cotton balls for clouds, used a hole-punch to make rain drops and glitter to make snow. She really enjoyed this activity.

{Spider Web}

Since our book was about a spider, we learned about spider webs. Sweet Pea got to make a mixture (flour, salt and water – equal parts) that she put in a squirt bottle to make a spider web.

{Whole Alphabet}

While Letter of the Week is fun, it’s important to have some whole alphabet activities thrown in as well! This week Sweet Pea worked on an ABC puzzle. She also got the magnetic letters out and played with those for a while as I was doing school with Little Bug.

{Handwriting}

Some weeks Sweet Pea is in to the handwriting activities I have prepared for her and other weeks she doesn’t touch them. At age three, I do not push handwriting practice at all. This week she wanted to practice making her W’s! We love The Measured Mom’s preschool handwriting worksheets!

We have just a few more weeks of Ready-Made Preschool Level 1 left before Sweet Pea completes her PK3 school year! We will save several seasonally themed Ready-Made Preschool lessons to do next year!
