There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly {Letter F, Frog Life Cycle, Sequence of Events}

{Letter of the Week}

Sweet Pea’s Letter of the Week was Letter F. We read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. For her Letter F craft, she put fingerprints all over the Letter F with pink paint. Sweet Pea still loves our Leap Frog Letter toy. Every week she finds her Letter of the Week and we listen to the letter sound song. We’ve been using My ABC of Bible Verses for Scripture Memory.

{Sequence of Events, Frog Life Cycle}

We had a story-prop that Sweet Pea used while I read the story to her. Then she used the story prop to retell the story to me. There were cut outs of all the animals and Sweet Pea would feed them to the old lady as we read the story.

We learned about the frog life cycle! The girls enjoyed this day’s lesson as we glued bubble wrap onto the paper plate for the eggs laid in the water and then wrote on our fingers with a black marker and left a fingerprint on the paper plate to make tadpoles. This activity really made the frog life cycle stick in their minds! They were both able to tell me the frog life cycle after doing this.

Another day Sweet Pea got to make a frog from a paper plate. Later we were reading her Little F Book we were singing Five Green and Speckled Frogs and Sweet Pea ran to find her paper plate frog while we were singing.
