Sweet Pea’s Alphabet Basket
Feb 25, 2015
Since we now do school all together (instead of waiting until naptime to do school with Little Bug which is what I did when I only had 2 kids), I needed to come up with ways to keep Sweet Pea busy and learning while I am doing school with Little Bug!
I created the Alphabet Basket!
What is in the Alphabet Basket?
Based on what the Letter of the Week is from our Ready-Made Preschool Level 1, I fill this basket with lots of fun activities for Sweet Pea to work on while I am teaching Little Bug.
The Measured Mom’s Preschool Handwriting Pages – I have laminated one copy of these so Sweet Pea can practice writing the Letter of the Week with a dry erase marker several times. Then I have a paper copy that she can use a pencil on to write her letters.
Play Doh Mats – Using play doh Sweet Pea makes the Letter of the Week.
Handwriting Without Tears Capital Letter Cards – Using the Wood Pieces Set for Capital Letters Sweet Pea makes the Letter of the Week.
Little Letter Books – Sweet Pea loves these Little Letter Books! There are poems and songs for each letter of the alphabet.
While I am working with Little Bug, Sweet Pea also has access to educational toys, play-doh and our bean sensory bin! She does a pretty good job at entertaining herself so I can work with Little Bug. Sometimes, she just wants to sit on my lap while I am teaching Little Bug. One time she blurted out the answer to Little Bug’s math!
Little ones are always learning more than we think they are!
