Our last row of the summer was Jessie Bear, What Will You Wear? This was a new book to my girls. They enjoyed the rhyming words and following Jessie Bear through his day.

Some activities we did together and some I did one-on-one with them separately.

Sweet Pea looked in the book and saw what Jessie Bear ate for his lunch and then glued the food on the plate. We talked about Jessie Bear’s lunch being very healthy!

Together, we did What Comes Next? and we made rhyming pairs. The girls had a lot of fun making rhyming pairs. Little Bug has mastered rhyming words and Sweet Pea is pretty good at picking our rhyming words when we are reading books. I taught Little Bug about the ruler. She learned about inches and that 12 inches make a foot. Then she measured Jessie Bear’s lunch using the ruler.

Sweet Pea categorized the food that Jessie Bear Did Eat and Didn’t Eat.

The girls loved playing with a cut-out of Jessie Bear and all his clothes! They dressed him over and over. Later, I put little magnets on the bear and the clothes to make the clothes stay on the bear better.
