{Books We Read}

Our Ready-Made Preschool Book this week was See the Ocean but I could not lay my hands on a copy from the library and I wasn’t willing to pay Amazon’s price to buy a copy. Ready-Made has other book titles suggested for every week, but we have a bin of ocean/beach books in our home library so I just went there and picked out several titles. We read Beach Day!, Swimmy and There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell.

If I can get my hands on See the Ocean I would love to read it with Little Bug as it seems like a very good book that tells the story of a blind child “seeing” the ocean in other ways than using her eyes.

Our Bible stories this week were about the miracles that God performed such as making the blind man see and raising Lazarus from the dead.

{Letter of the Week}

The Letter of the Week was Letter Oo. Little Bug painted her Letter O blue and then put a sticker of an octopus on the Letter O. She drew the Letter O in sand and then she wanted to write the letter O on paper! She did her O page in her ABC Book. I put the plastic octopus in her Mystery Box for her to discover what her Letter of the Week was that week.

{Ocean, Land & Sea Animals}

Like the little girl in the story, Little Bug used her hands to “see” the starfish that I placed in her hands. She was to guess what she was holding by feeling it and not looking at it.

She learned about Land Animals and Ocean Animals. She drew a picture of land and then placed all the land animal stickers on that page and then she did the same for the Ocean Animals.

We talked about protecting our eyes from the sun when we go to the beach. Little Bug got to do a Sunglasses craft where she used a special pen that made color appear on the black sunglasses when she wrote with it on the sunglasses.

Little Bug got to make an Ocean Diorama which was probably one of her most favorite activities from Ready-Made Preschool! She painted her shoe box blue on three of the four sides for the ocean water. Then she painted with glue on the fourth side and put some of her salt from the salt box there to make sand. She had lots of ocean creature stickers and shells to use to decorate her diorama.

{Places We Went}

We had planned a trip to the beach on Friday of this week but due to storms in the forecast (that never came) we postponed the beach trip to another day. As you can tell from the pictures, Little Bug LOVES the beach and literally rolls in the sand and gets dirty from head to toe!
