ABC School with Sweet Pea {Letter Tt}
Apr 12, 2014
Sweet Pea’s letter of the week was Letter Tt and we read about teeth, thumbs and trains! One of Sweet Pea’s favorite books at this time is Stop Train Stop! Sweet Pea put tape on her Letter T and did her T is for truck dot sticker page. And this week, I bought dot stickers! She enjoyed using those.
We played with Tangram puzzles. We talked about the shapes and the sizes of the shapes. Then Sweet Pea had a lot of fun using the tangrams to make the animals. We used a tangram set with puzzles that I had bought years ago for Little Bug at the Dollar Store.
Our craft this week was to make a Color Train. Each car was to be colored a certain color. Sweet Pea knows all her basic colors! To go with our transportation theme of the week, we made a Traffic Light. Sweet Pea loved tearing the red, yellow and green paper to glue onto the traffic light. We talked about what each color means. Now when we drive around Sweet Pea enjoys looking at all the traffic lights and telling us to go and stop!
Our math activity was a Transportation Graph. I gathered several toy cars, trucks, airplanes and helicopters that used to be Uncle’s when he was a boy! We talked about each mode of transportation and what it does and then the girls placed each one on the correct column of the graph.
I know I’ve already said this but my girls just LOVE The Measured Mom’s Little Letter Books! We read the Little Letter T book this week. Every night the girls can choose one book to read before going to bed and often times these little books are chosen! During our Bible & reading time in the morning, the girls often choose the Little Letter Books to read. They really are a wonderful resource to use with preschoolers! HUGE hit in our house!
Next week’s letter is Letter Vv!
