{Books We Read & Bible}

In March we began the last 10 weeks of Ready-Made Preschool. It’s hard to believe we are nearly finished with our first year of homeschooling! Our book this week was Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel. This is a very old book and I like that Ready-Made included an older book in the curriculum. The library didn’t have this book; I ended up ordering a used copy in good condition from a seller on Amazon for $4. It was totally worth the purchase because Little Bug absolutely loved this story. She looked forward to reading it every day and would tell me every day how much she loved the story.

Our Bible story this week was Daniel in the Lion’s Den. We talked about how God protects us and how it is important to obey God even when someone is trying to get us to do otherwise. Daniel refused to pray to the King and God protected him from the lions! Sweet Pea loves to roar like a lion so she did a lot of roaring this week as we read the story every day.

{Letter of the Week}

Our Letter of the Week was Letter Vv. Little Bug put Velcro on her Letter v, did her Do-A-Dot Letter Vv, glued a vacuum cleaner on her ABC page and made a V out of play dough. She didn’t want to use the mat!

{Vehicles}

Because our book was about a steam shovel, we did several fun activities with vehicles! Little Bug got to paint a small toy vehicle that we used during the Ramp Activity. Little Bug got books and a piece of cardboard and she made a ramp. As she made the ramp steeper and steeper she learned the car would travel further and further.

She also got to make a Name Train. She cut out rectangles for the train cars, I cut out circles for her to use as the wheels. She glued it all down on two pieces of green construction paper. Then she was to write one letter of her name on each car of the train. She said she wanted to give this to her Gramps because he used to work for the railroad! He has it in his office at home now!

Our last activity was a game of Vehicle Memory. Using car stickers, Little Bug made the game and then we enjoyed playing Memory together.

{Mudpies to Magnets}

The girls got to do a fun science experiment with Grams involving a plastic bag, two sponges and two straws. They pressed on the sponges in the bag with the straws between the sponges and poking out of the plastic bag. They got several objects to see how far the straws could blow the objects.
