Homeschool Room {Changes}

Jan 22, 2014

Being halfway through our first homeschool year called for some changes in the Homeschool Room! It is now officially just the “Homeschool Room” and no longer the Homeschool Room/Office! This room, which is suppose to be a formal living room (which we have no need for), is the perfect location for a Homeschool Room in our house! I don’t really see the extra bedroom (which is Wesley’s room) ever serving as our Homeschool Room. This location is central to our house and we desire homeschooling to be a central component of our family, so this is a perfect set up!

Most everything is still in the same spot it was when I wrote this post, however, some things have changed. These three supply and materials drawers, the Calendar and cork board didn’t change locations at all.

Along the wall under the window, I have displayed the letters we have done so far this year. Little Bug loved this and I had been wanting to figure out a way to display her letters for a long while. Before these changes, I had very limited wall space in this room. I put them up in the order we’ve learned them and after we complete Ready-Made Preschool, I will put them up in ABC order.

I moved our little table to the center of the room. The book basket now contains all the books from Ready-Made Preschool.

The wall where the computer used to be now has our bookshelf on it. I liked this bookcase in our bedroom but I like it even better in here and I know we will use these books more now that they are in here. I put our workboxes on either side of the bookshelf. Not sure how I like that and I may move them to a different spot in the room.

Since our bedroom is humongous and had plenty of extra space, we’ve set up a little office area in one of the corners in there.

This side of the room stayed the same.

As I said before, it will be interesting to see how this room changes throughout the years! This was our first little change and I like it!
