Y Week!
Sep 19, 2012
Little Bug wrote the letter Yy.
We made handprint yarn.
Little Bug thread beads onto the yarn.
I made a necklace for Sweet Pea to play with.
Little Bug put all these beads on the yarn herself!
Little Bug did the Do-A-Dot letter Yy. She really enjoys doing these.
We watched a YouTube video about how sheep are sheered to make yarn! Little Bug was fascinated.
We sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and then I asked her, “Little Bug, what is a color that starts with the letter Y?” I pulled out a container of paint from our painting supply box and asked her what color it was and what letter the color starts with. We went through all the colors until I pulled out the yellow paint!
Then she painted two stars yellow. I had cut the stars from foam paper.
In preparation for our “Yellow Day” we went to the bookshelf and pulled off books that are yellow.
The last day of Y week was “Yellow Day”!
The girls had their morning milk in yellow cups.
We wore yellow clothes!
A yellow breakfast of waffle with honey!
Our stack of yellow books.
We had read all but three of the books by naptime that day!
A Y-yellow lunch! Y chicken strips and broccoli with cheese.
A special yellow treat…pudding with banana!
Sweet Pea had a special treat, too!
Banana! (She LOVES banana but she can’t eat it often because it stops her up…)
We went on a Yellow Scavenger Hunt! We searched the house for yellow toys and put them in the laundry basket.
Little Bug made me a yellow meal!
We took all our yellow toys we had found and dumped them out and played!
We played Yahtzee Jr!
Little Bug played with a water balloon yo-yo! I’m glad we took this activity outside because not two seconds after this picture, the balloon burst!
