T Week!
Aug 28, 2012
I got a bunch of old magazines and cut out pictures.
Little Bug had to find the things that start with Tt and glue them onto the letter Tt.
We read the book Three Pigs, One Wolf and Seven Magic Shapes. This book is adorable. It is like a sequal to the book Three Little Pigs and includes tangrams puzzles that you can make with your child after reading!
We made the candlestick using tangrams that I bought from Amazon!
Then we printed several more tangram puzzles and we made the house, a running man and a cat!
At this age it is hard for Little Bug to make the puzzles without the paper underneath to be able to match the pieces. I cut up one of the tangram puzzles that we printed so that she would have a set of tangrams that were the size of the puzzles we printed. (The ones from Amazon were too small to fit on these print outs.)
We made a handprint tiger!
This activity was meant to be a book, but I changed it up some. I cut the train cars out and asked Little Bug what she wanted to use to color the train cars. She chose paint. After she painted the train cars I drew the railroad track and then Little Bug glued the cars onto the paper.
Little Bug made a tractor using a “Mommy T” and a “Baby T”. (That is what she called them!)
Little Bug made the letter Tt using toothpicks!
I made Little Bug this train lunch one day!
We read Brush Your Teeth Please. This is a great book to teach about brushing up and down, side to side and making sure you don’t forget to brush the teeth way in the back of your mouth!
After reading the book Little Bug brushed her teeth!
I went to Dave’s tool box and got out some tools. We talked about each tool and what it does.
Little Bug explored the tools (with my supervision). And then we played a game! I laid all the tools out on the floor and then took one away and hid it under a pillow while Little Bug had her eyes closed. She opened her eyes and told me which tool was missing!
Little Bug wore her shirt that has a little turtle on it!
