S Week!
Aug 18, 2012
Little Bug painted the stars on the Ss red, white and blue.
Little Bug glued the socks, slippers, snake, sun and squirrel on the paper because they all made the letter Ss sound (click on The Snowy Day printables)!
Little Bug sorted the clothes by Winter/Summer Clothes (click on The Snowy Day printables).
Gramps and Grandma have a HUGE, 6-legged spider that resides on the side of their house in a humongous spider web! Little Bug and Gramps go out to see the spider every time we are there. Not sure why he only has 6 legs…
Little Bug matched the whole fruit to the half-fruit that showed the seeds. Then we compared the seeds and saw that some were tiny, some were big, some were dark seeds and some were light seeds. And some didn’t have any seeds at all!
We played with “Snow”!! Cookie sheet, shaving cream and Little People farm animals = lots of fun for this little girl!!
As you can tell, Little Bug loved this! She played in the “snow” first by burying the animals in the snow. (This activity suggests that you get toy cars to play with in the “snow” but seeing as how we have no boys in this house, we had no cars, so I used the Little People farm animals instead. I need to buy my girls some toy cars…)
Then she started “sledding” in the “snow”. She was slipping and sliding! Love this girl’s imagination!!
Little Bug watched an “Itsy Bitsy Spider” Youtube video.
We made a handprint strawberry!
Little Bug made a snowman that we named “Sam”.
Little Bug made a snake from a paper towel roll.
This was such a fun, easy craft to do. All you need is an empty paper towel roll, paint and a pair of scissors! Once the “snake” dries, you cut the paper towel roll from top to bottom and it makes a snake! We also glued on some googly eyes.
We made a snow globe! I cut out a snowman from foam paper and hot glued it to the bottom of a baby food jar. Then, Little Bug filled the jar with water and poured some glitter in.
It was another fun, easy craft to do with supplies we already had at the house!
